Recognition and Certified Quality

The FSWI is recognized by the Canton of Zurich as a vocational school offering school-based commercial apprenticeship training leading to a Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training, and is one of the leading schools in the canton in this field. As a College of Higher Education, it also offers the federally recognized program leading to a diploma in business administration (CHE) with the additional title “Professional Bachelor.”

The quality of the entire school is regularly assessed by an independent body. FSWI is certified both under the Swiss eduQua quality label and according to the international education management standard ISO 21001. Only a few educational institutions hold this dual certification. It confirms that FSWI meets nationally and internationally recognized requirements for educational quality, organization, and student-centeredness.

Lessons

You have the flexibility to choose how you participate in class: in person in Winterthur, online, or a combination of both. Depending on the course, you can decide from class to class whether you’ll attend in person or from home. In addition, the lessons are recorded so you can catch up on any missed content or review the material before exams.

Our modern classrooms are located right next to the Winterthur train station and are equipped with the technology needed for seamless hybrid learning. Even when participating online, you’ll be actively involved in class and can interact directly with the instructors and your classmates.

Thanks to in-person, hybrid, and online classes, people from the Winterthur region, the canton of Zurich, and neighboring cantons attend FSWI, as do students from all over Switzerland.
