Our 10th school year enables you to close gaps in your schooling, acquire new knowledge and gain your first practical insights into the world of work. At the same time, you benefit from aprofessional support in the search for a suitable apprenticeship.
The vocational preparation year is available in two specializations:
- "Commercial profession or retail trade"
- "Medical professions"
It can be individually designed and completed in three models:
- Full-time school (commercial direction)
- Company internship with two school days (medical direction)
- Language study trip to England or France
- Au pair internship in French-speaking Switzerland or Ticino

Still haven't found a suitable commercial apprenticeship? FREI'S schools offer the ideal solution: interested students can start their commercial apprenticeship here even without a training company. This is because the first year of training at FREI'S schools is a purely academic foundation year.
This well-known and proven basic education has been a successful basis for professional careers for generations.

The internships are arranged by VERDIA. The apprentices are professionally supported and supervised during the application process.

Federal VET Diploma in Business Administration with Ireland semester, 3 years
Would you like to learn languages at a high level? Then complete this unique KV apprenticeship withintegrated Ireland half-year! This will equip you for your future - also on the international stage.
This course offers you the unique opportunity to complete part of your training in Ireland: with an integrated work placement, language school and host family.
The Federal VET Diploma in Business Administration with a semester in Ireland is federally recognized and offered in cooperation with the Canton of Lucerne. The training is part of MobiLingua, the mobility and foreign language program of the Office for Vocational and Continuing Education, Further Training of the Canton of Lucerne.

Federal VET Diploma in Business Administration (Profile E/B) Talent School, Sport-KV, 4 years
Would you like to continue playing competitive sport? Or pursue your artistic talent? Then this apprenticeship is perfect for you. Your talent has a place here alongside basic commercial training.
The Talent School's commercial training is optimally coordinated with training, practice and competition sessions or performances. Any absences are planned together with a supervisor or coordinator and it is ensured that the connection to the vocational school is maintained.

Medical continuing education, further training
Medical secretary H+, diploma, 1 year, part-time
The H+ medical secretary performs general administrative tasks largely independently. She prepares reports, expert opinions and medical histories from dictaphone. She is familiar with health insurance and health insurance matters. Good knowledge of medical terminology and knowledge of the healthcare and hospital systems round off her profile.
Medical secretaries are mainly sought after in hospitals, private medical practices, group practices, institutes, homes, clinics, public health offices and health insurance companies. The H+ medical secretary training course is recognized and monitored by the H+ Swiss Hospitals Association. After one year of training (1 evening per week and Saturday morning), participants graduate with the "H+ Medical Secretary" diploma.
Medical and hospital secretary, diploma, 1 year, part-time
The medical and hospital secretary carries out general administrative work largely independently. She prepares reports, expert opinions and medical histories from dictaphone. She is familiar with health insurance and health insurance matters. Good knowledge of medical terminology and knowledge of the health and hospital system round off her profile.
Medical and hospital secretaries are mainly sought after in hospitals, private medical practices, group practices, institutes, homes, clinics, public health offices and health insurance companies. After one year of training (1 evening per week and Saturday morning), participants graduate with the diploma "Medical and Hospital Secretary FREI'S Schools". The only difference between the medical and hospital secretary training course and the H+ medical secretary training course is the participation requirements.
Medical practice coordinator practice management course, 6 modules
The Medical Practice Coordinator (MPK) Practice Management course combines your medical knowledge and experience with solid management skills.
They take on a management role in the team in the medical practice and manage employees independently. MPKs are mainly sought after in group and joint practices as well as by health insurance companies and insurers. For the first time, the MPK course offers a further training level for the profession of Medical Practice Assistant Federal VET Diploma in the form of a Federal Professional Examination with a Federal Professional Diploma FA.
The continuing education, further training consists of five compulsory modules (PM) and one compulsory elective module (WPM), which you can take in any order. The modules can also be booked independently of the continuing education, further training MPK. FREI'S schools are recognized as an official module provider by the OdA Berufsbildung Medizinische Praxisassistentin (Odamed).

Change to medical practice assistant MPA (4 subjects)
You are working in a medical field as a FAGE, BMA, MTRA, nurse and would like to change to take over the work of an MPA in a doctor's surgery. Our changeover course offers you the opportunity to acquire skills in the following subjects:
- Imaging diagnostics (X-ray) with BAG-approved ID card
- Laboratory diagnostics
- Consultation assistance
- Work processes and administration (incl. TARMED)
You have the option of choosing the order of the courses yourself. After successfully completing all the courses, you will receive a diploma from FREI'S Schools Change to MPA.
