Active listening, empathy and giving feedback - i.e. the role of the company mentor requires the ability to listen carefully, understand and respond. A mentor must be able to put themselves in the mentee's shoes and understand their feelings and perspectives. Constructive feedback is a central element of monitoring. A mentor should be able to give feedback in a way that is supportive and constructive.
