In English-speaking countries, a DBA is regarded as the highest university degree in the field of management and is roughly equivalent to a doctorate in political science/economics (Dr. oec.) or a doctorate in economics (Dr. rer. oec.).

The Doctor of Business Administration degree generally requires a Bachelor's degree as well as an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) or a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA). If you do not have these degrees, you may also have a chance of being admitted to the Doctor of Business Administration program with an EMBA, an MA or an MSc in a related field. In addition to a degree, several years of professional experience in at least middle management are also an important prerequisite for admission.

A Doctor of Business Administration program usually lasts six semesters and serves to expand knowledge of corporate management and business administration. As it is not possible to obtain this degree in Switzerland, universities and universities of applied sciences in Switzerland only offer the DBA in cooperation with universities in the UK, such as Manchester Business School, Kingston University or Harvard Business School. The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) is an academic degree that can be obtained through a degree course in business administration. The business administration degree program teaches both the technical skills of business administration and related subject areas as well as analytical, methodological and social skills. First of all, primary fundamentals such as bookkeeping, accounting, business administration, economics, finance, controlling and law are taught in business administration courses. The second part of the BBA course focuses on practical knowledge. It consists mainly of seminars and extensive project work on real-life business management problems in companies and markets. This Bachelor of Applied Sciences UAS has the same status as the Bachelor of Science Business Administration or Bachelor of Art Business Administration, but is more application-oriented at a University of Applied Sciences. If you are aiming for a Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) degree, you will begin your undergraduate studies with a basic education in business administration, learn to work scientifically and methodically and improve your English language skills. In the main course, you will then deepen your knowledge of business administration and learn how to put it into practice, for example in case studies and projects. In the final year of study (at some schools as early as the second year), students decide on a specialization to which they will devote the rest of their studies.
