With the MarKom certificate you can perform the following tasks:

The MarKom certification exam was last administered on December 5, 2023, and has not been offered since then. Anyone looking for practical, foundational training in marketing, communication, and sales today can, for example, enroll in a course as aMarketing AssistantorMarketing and Sales Specialistdecide. These continuing education programs provide important foundational knowledge for a career in marketing and, depending on the provider, lead to a certificate or a professional association certification. Those who wish to specialize further afterward may, for example, consider pursuing further training to become a marketing specialist with a Federal Diploma of Higher Education.

The former MarKom certificate is not a federally recognized professional qualification. The MarKom admission exam at that time covered the fundamentals of marketing, communication, sales, and public relations, and made it easier to prepare for advanced Federal Professional Examinations.

There are three important points to note:

• Former MarKom Certificate: The joint MarKom qualifying exam was held for the last time on December 5, 2023. The certificate was previously valid for five years and was mandatory for certain Federal Professional Examinations through the 2018 examination year. Since 2019, it has no longer been generally required for these admissions.
• Current MarKom® Programs: Some educational providers continue to offer courses leading to MarKom® certification. These do not necessarily involve the former joint certification exam. Therefore, check with the respective provider to find out who administers the exam and what the certification is worth.
• Recognition in the job market: There is no reliable evidence of uniform recognition throughout Switzerland or of the former certificate generally being held in high regard. The foundational knowledge imparted may still be useful to employers; however, professional experience and the requirements of the specific position are also decisive factors.
