Nach einem Modedesign Studium können Absolventen und Absolventinnen diverse Tätigkeiten nicht nur in der Modewelt ausüben. Neben einer freiberuflichen Tätigkeit als Modedesigner und Modedesignerin können sie etwa als Assistent oder Assistentin in einem Designerteam arbeiten, in einem Trendbüro als Mitarbeitender, im Einkauf, dem Merchandising, der Kundenberatung oder im Verlagswesen, etwa in der Werbung oder bei einer Moderedaktion. Auch im Theater oder beim Film können Modedesigner eine Anstellung finden, beispielsweise im Bereich Kostüme und Ausstattung.

Welche Zulassungsbedingungen sind für das Modedesign Studium zu erfüllen?

Wer ein Modedesignstudium aufnehmen möchte, muss einen Abschluss der Sekundarstufe II vorweisen können, also entweder ein EFZ oder eine Matura, und mindestens 18 Jahre alt sein. Wer über ein aussergewöhnliches gestalterisches Talent verfügt, kann nach einer Dossierprüfung auch ohne Sekundarabschluss II zugelassen werden. Sind diese Voraussetzungen erfüllt, durchlaufen die Bewerberinnen und Bewerber ein Aufnahmeverfahren, das aus einer Projektaufgabe, einer Arbeitsdokumentation und einem Motivationsschreiben besteht.

Absolvierende eines Modedesign Studiums HF besitzen eine fundierte technische, gestalterische und handwerkliche Ausbildung, die ihnen eine professionelle Arbeit als Fashiondesigner ermöglicht. Von der Konzeption über die Schnittmustergestaltung bis zur Fertigung erwerben die Studierenden umfangreiche Fachkompetenzen, so dass sie ihre eigenen Entwürfe individuell realisieren können. Dazu erlangen sie auch Wissen rund um Materialien, Verwendung, moderne Technologien, Planung und Kommunikation, finanzielle Geschäftsabwicklung und gesetzliche Rahmenbedingungen. Im letzten Semester bildet die Kreation der eigenen Kollektion den Abschluss.

Studying fashion design - your key to success

A fashion design course at higher technical college level is not exclusively open to clothing designers and is not exclusively aimed at those who have completed basic training in textiles or fashion. The course is offered by higher technical colleges and is also aimed at career changers without relevant professional experience or basic training. The course is therefore open to anyone with a passion for fashion and a soft spot for design. It forms a top foundation for a career as a fashion designer and is also a helpful basis before studying at a university of applied sciences.

The Fashion Design course at the HF has a modular structure. The individual modules of the course can also be attended independently of each other. The following four modules make up the course:

If these requirements are met, applicants undergo an admission procedure consisting of a project assignment, work documentation and a letter of motivation.

R+F offers state-recognized degree courses in Film (part-time), Photography, Art, Fashion Design and Visual Design leading to a College of Higher Education (CHE) - Professional Bachelor. The range of courses also includes the two specialist classes in photography and graphics with Federal VET Diploma apprenticeships, the preliminary design course and the Foundation Year (preparatory course). The wide range of design courses for adults and the youth courses for 11 to 16-year-olds are open to all interested parties.

R+F is the largest independent art and design school in Switzerland.
