The workshops in Professional Writing are aimed at executives, marketing managers, web writers, ghostwriters, social media managers and other interested people who would like to be trained and further educated in professional writing.

The continuing education course in Professional Writing is held on four different dates and has a workload of 120 hours.

In addition to the four different course variants, participants in the Professional Writing course also have the opportunity to choose one or more specializations, which are charged separately. These specialization courses are optional, but mandatory for the completion of a diploma. The following are available in 2018:

• Writing for content marketing and storytelling
• Writing for the web, including SEO strategies
• Writing for social media
• Writing in interaction with education and design

In the Professional Writing Workshop, you have the opportunity to choose one of four options that interest you the most. You can choose between "Classic Writing Workshop", "Visual Writing Workshop", "Compact Writing Workshop" and "Writing Workshop for Institutional Communication". Focus 1 provides generalist training for writing in professional, academic and media contexts. Focus 2 can be completed on virtual platforms in social distance learning, but is otherwise identical in content to Focus 1. Focus 3 takes place in compact form over four consecutive days and Focus 4 is geared towards the requirements of administrations, associations, schools, authorities, foundations and politics.

The continuing education, further training in Professional Writing also consists of eight thematic blocks, which are covered in face-to-face lessons or in social distance learning via video lessons. After an introduction to written communication, participants are taught the rules of spelling, sentence structure, punctuation marks and standing phrases, followed by a focus on reader-friendliness. In addition, technical terms and names are explained, the moderate and correct use of foreign words as well as clear words and word order, a concrete way of expression and elegant sentence constructions are learned. Logic and precision are also focal points of continuing education, further training, which includes word choice, sentence endings, expressions and meaningful terms. A written diploma examination can also be taken, although this requires at least one in-depth course.
