They are the point of contact for authorities, employers and insured persons in the areas of pension provision and reintegration (disability insurance, maternity compensation, old-age and survivors' insurance, compulsory accident insurance, etc.).

Persons wishing to take part in further training to become a certified social insurance expert must have passed a professional examination for social insurance specialists (social insurance specialist with a federal certificate). At least one year of professional experience in the social insurance sector after obtaining the certificate is also required before the final examination.
