Business high school education: focus on business and law

Grammar schools with a focus on economics and law provide a broad general education in ten basic subjects plus a supplementary subject. The "Business and Law" specialization prepares pupils optimally for university studies in economics or a bachelor's degree in law. There are Matura courses for children and young people as well as for adults.

Business High School Focus on Business and Law: A direct route to success

Matura courses with a focus on business and law are offered by public and private schools - as full-time schools for children and young people as well as with various time models for adults.

There are long-term grammar schools for pupils who transfer directly from elementary school to the Wirtschaft Gymnasium, and shorter options for those who plan to transfer later - usually after completing lower-secondary level.

All Matura courses provide a broad general education. The course comprises 10 basic subjects (German, mathematics, French, English or the third national language, physics, chemistry, biology, geography, history and music or visual arts). The specialization in economics and law takes place in the so-called focus subject. A supplementary subject is added as the twelfth subject. The supplementary subjects are prescribed by some grammar schools with a fixed focus.

The various business courses at the Gymnasium prepare students for the Baccalaureate. Successful completion of the course enables examination-free access to all universities (University, FIT) and Universities of Teacher Education (UTE) in Switzerland and to many foreign universities.
